WinSolo is a mini-application that is used to temporarily close all background applications (even the ones that don't show up in the Ctrl-Alt-Del Close Program window) in order to allow a sensitive application to run with no interruption from other multi-tasking applications.
WinSolo is especially useful for preventing errors when burning/recording CDs. It shuts down all hidden and background applications, allowing the CD burning process to run smoothly and without any disk access glitches. It also helps when running applications that complain of low system resources or run substantially slower due to external programs accessing the disk (ScanDisk, Defrag).
WinSolo Deluxe has also been released with some additional useful features, such as easy right-click "solo application" start up and wrappers for making it easier to configure specific programs to always use WinSolo when started.
