WinJey is a general purpose module player to play tracker based files such as 669, MOD, S3M, STM, XM, IT, MDL, DMF, FAR, MTM, DSM, PTM, compressed files such as MP1, MP2, MP3, standard files such as WAV, VOC and CD audio tracks.

The player uses .design files and Winamp skins to define its look. They contain references to bitmaps and coordinates which represent buttons such as play, pause, stop and so on. The .design files have been greatly enhanced for this player to support volume sliders, time meters and many more things.

It also uses plug-ins for visualization that are used in WinAmp and ModPlug. Plugins are DLLs that can be loaded at runtime into the player using the options menu. They usually visually display FFT data or oscilloscopes in some way.
