Windrum is a drum machine for Windows. It also has minor support for generating
TB-303 like sounds. The public (GNU-licence)
3MU sound generation source code
is used for the TB-303 sound generation.
The program is extremely simple to use, but as the version number suggests, has not
been finished yet. You simply select a drum sound from the menus and click in the circle
grid to make them play. You can edit drums during playback and adjust the volume and pan
of a drum "row". The load and save menu options do not work but it automatically renders
a 44.1KHz stereo raw pcm wave file (test.pcm) to the programs directory which can be opened
in most sample editors such as Cool Edit and
Sound Forge.
The program has no manual, but the author mentions following keyboard commands on his
web page. Keys a-z select a pattern and SHIFT a-z overwrites a pattern with the active
pattern. It also mentions that if you generate TB-303 sounds then you should turn down
the VCF-amount first.
You can also e-mail the author to
request a copy of the source code.
