Description

Wave256 is a waveform creation program used to enter and mix a variety of standard waveforms at any harmonic, phase offset or DC offset. You can then use a number of wave shaping methods to 'hack' the waveform, and even morph between two waveforms. The result of your effort is stored in a .256 file, which can be directly used by any EPROM burner that can access a 512K EPROM. These EPROM's can be loaded into a Waveform City and used like a regular analog VCO. The wavebanks can also be edited by any wave editor that supports 8-bit raw PCM data. The output can then be used by other types of VCDO's and software that uses raw waveform files. On DirectX equipt machines, you can audition the waveforms as you create them.

The Wave256 software provides a screen display of the waveform you are editing, a tab control containing editing routines, and a number of buttons to control edit saves, waveform playback (on a DirectX capable PC) and save/load .256 files.

The download for Wave256 also comes with Move256 which allows you to select a 'from' and a 'to' file (in .256 format), and move waves from one to the other. This is useful if you are trying to compile waveforms from a number of waveform sets, and you don't want to recreate the waves from scratch. You should experiment with this program, and use it (in conjunction with the .256 files provided with the software) to come up with your own EPROM's. If you do not have an EPROM burner, you can contact the Wiard Synthesizer Company for assistance.
