UltraPlayer plays MP3, WMA, WAV, CD Audio, and Internet radio streams using the true-fidelity Neutrino MPEG audio decoder. CD ripping to MP3s is also available with the addition of the EasyMP3 module. UltraPlayer works with the EasyMP3 software on-demand, freeing system resources when users are simply playing music. The encoding feature launches automatically when users want to convert CD tracks into MP3 files. EasyMP3 encodes at 32-320 Kbps or with VBR.

There exists a data collection system built into the program that you must agree to before installing. It tracks genre of music played and how UltraPlayer features are utilized. They do not track specific songs, how often you play them or other more private usage. There are also advertisements run between pages during program use.
