TiMidity converts MIDI files to WAV audio files. It is also a real-time MIDI player. TiMidity does not require an external MIDI instrument module to play MIDI files; it performs all sound synthesis in the software.
TiMidity++ uses GUS/patch (Gravis Ultrasound) as the voice data to play. It can also handle SoundFont data.
