More Instruments
When you launch the Sonic Boom Box installer the first item installed is the 220 new instruments. These instruments utilize 1.2GB of disk space and are stored in a single file. The SonicBoomBox plug-in below is also installed. You can use the plug-in to edit up to eighteen different parameters of your instruments sound quality. Editing sounds can be preformed manually or by using realtime MIDI control to automate almost every knob in the Sonic Boom Box Instruments Interface.
Instruments provided with Sonic Boom Box include 33 Bass instruments, 31 Drum Kits, 28 Ethnic instruments like accordion, harp, banjo, mandolin, music box, sitar, vibes, xylophone and more. 32 Guitars, 30 Keyboards, 33 Percussion instruments and 32 Synthetic sounds are also provided. These instruments are primarily aimed at rhythm section needs. No acoustic strings, woodwinds or brass are provided in this library.

Accessing the Sounds
Once you have installed the sounds they are easily accessible within the GarageBand Track Info dialog box, along with the original GarageBand instruments. You simply click on the the software instrument category with a USB prefix on the left side and you will be shown all of the available instruments in that category on the right side. You can easily audition the sounds one at a time by selecting each instrument you are interested in and playing with it. The Sonic Boom Box has a wide variety of drums, bass, keyboards, guitars and synth sounds to choose from.

The Loops
Sonic Boom Box provides 4,000 loops that require about 1.6GB of drive space once you install them. You can identify the loops that are part of this package by the USB prefix in front of their name just like the instruments.
