The SynC Modular software synthesizer brings the ultimate performance and flexibility to modular synthesis on the PC.
How about more than 30 synthesized strings voices with effects at 44 kHz on PII-350? (5 detuned sawtooths running through an envelope-controlled filter and amplifier, chorus and reverb, all built with SynC Modular!)
The synth has come out of its beta stage and into trial and full versions. The trial version is a fully functional product with DirectX output and sampling disabled.
New in this release:
- DirectX output (for lower latency and better timing)
- Sampling
- AMD K6 support added
- Improved loopback driver
- And more...
Product Features:
- Realtime Synthesis - Of course it's realtime!
- High Performance - Using its unique modular optimizing technology SynC Modular gives you high polyphony and/or patch complexity.
- Multitimbrality - You can have several synths playing simultaneously on different MIDI channels. You can switch between synths by MIDI program change. You can further process the mixed sound with effect modules.
- Sequencer Interfacing - The built-in MIDI loopback driver allows receiving MIDI from your favorite sequencing software.
- Flexibility - You can go as deep down as constructing your own oscillators, envelopes and filters (and of course effects). Each instance of a basic module can be tuned to particular requirements.
- Easy To Use - You create synths by connecting modules on screen. The modules' polyphony and event/audio signal types are handled by the synth automatically for you. Presets let you store various controls settings for any module or a hierarchy of modules. An included HighMods pack features a number of large-scale modules to allow quick building of your patches.
- Tutorial and Examples - The online help includes the Getting Started tutorial section guiding you through creation of a synth patch. The enclosed examples feature simulations of Nord Lead 2, 9-bar organ, Stings and simple synthesized drums.
