BB-Tuner "Mean Green" Edition is a standalone Microsoft Windows based software chromatic tuner, and a part of the BB-Tuner product line. It can also be used as a metronome.

The tuner is a standalone Microsoft Windows based software chromatic tuner. The tuner is more accurate and easier to use than traditional tuners. The tuner is even capable of running alongside your favorite digital audio workstation(DAW) software package.

A built-in tone generator is adjustable to any frequency to tune by ear. The metronome holds a rock solid tempo that is even adjustable to time signatures. The tuner captures your audio signal through standard Windows device I/O that allows you to plug into virtually any audio input device interface, including standard line and mic in.

Chromatic Tuning

BlackBall's BB-Tune is a fast and efficient chromatic tuning audio capture application that uses DirectSound to capture audio signal from the audio hardware in your computer. The captured signal is translated into notes (using FFT or Fast Fourier Transform) and displayed on your computers screen to assist in the tuning of musical instruments or vocals. BB-Tune provides precise accuracy of an audio signal with a +/-1% margin of error, compared to the other products' +/-3% margin of error.

Easy to Use

Plug your guitar's cable into the supplied 1/4" to 1/8" converter input line of your audio hardware. Launch BB-Tune and ensure that the application is getting signal. Tune your guitar as you would with any standard tuner. BB-Tuner also works through your standard microphone line in as well for non-cabled instruments and vocals. See "Configuring BB-Tune" if you have trouble getting signal.

Full Hardware Support

BB-Tune utilizes the standard MS-Windows ASIO Driver interface. Most low-end, mid-range, and high-end digital audio I/O boxes utilize this audio device driver standard, and will work seamlessly with BB-Tune. Even the standard Mic and line in 1/8" ports are compatible with BB-Tune.

Digital Audio Workstation Compatable

BB-Tune is a stand-alone 32-bit Windows application. As a result, BB-Tune is compatable with and can be used simultaneously with most popular Digital Audio Workstations. BB-Tune has a built in mini mode designed specifically to minimize the amount of screen real estate consumsed, so BB-Tune can work right along side your favorite DAW software.

Full Screen Mode

Users can simply click on the title area to open a full screen box, and the user interface can easily be viewed from accros the stage, studio, or rehersal room. By plugging a microphone into the users computer, all musicians in the band or orchestra can tune to the same exact note and frequency.

Configurable Metronome

The built in metronome provides a steady tempo for practicing your music timings. The metronome can configure both the tempo and the beat. The tempo is adjustable from 30 to 320 providing a broad range to handle any tempo song. The beat can be set to any of the following time signatures: 2/4, 3/4, 4/4, 5/8, 6/8, & 7/8 time.

Tone Generator

For musicians who prefer to tune by ear, the BB-Tuner tone generator provides a most flexible solution. The tone can be set by frequency or by note and octave. The frequency covers a broad range from 20.0 Hz to 20,000 Hz, and can be set down to tenth increments. The note and octave setup allows the user to directly select the desired note and octave for the tone generator to produce. The length that the generator plays to tone kcan be adjustable from 1 second up to an infinite amount of time.
