Version 4.6.2

  • "Audio -> Sample Editor -> Edit -> Search Zero Crossings": The menu now indicates (bullet) whether this function is selected or not.
  • Hyper Draw: The automatic thinning of to closely placed curve points has been optimized.
  • PC AV: ReWire labels show correctly now.
  • Rocket Network: If a local user went online again after a remote user removed a track from a project during their absence (offline) - Logic responded with the message "No Rocket object with the specified ID found". This has been fixed. (Platinum only)

Version 4.6.1

  • Master volume fader
    • The master fader changes all output gains. It acts as a separate attenuator stage; the level relations between the output objects are not affected. This is very helpful as an proportional output volume control and is particularly useful for surround mode in Logic Audio Platinum (fades of the complete surround mix).
    • The master fader is an audio object with the "Cha" parameter set to "Master". Moving the master fader does not affect the position of the output object's sliders itself but the signal levels directly. Thus the level changes are reflected in each output channel's level meters.
    • Currently the master fader is not available for TDM-based systems.
  • The Spanish localisation has been further enhanced.
  • The "goto Position" dialog (key command ) now correctly updates the SMPTE position display in the Transport window.
  • In the Sample editor, the "Edit > Insert Loop" command has been removed. The "Edit > Selection -> Loop" command offers the same functionality.
  • If a MIDI driver crashes when sending SysEx or opening the port, Logic will notify you in the next session that the driver has been disabled. You can re-activate it in Logic after you have updated the driver. Please contact the driver's manufacturer for an updated version.
  • If a MIDI driver cannot be opened, the message now contains a button to disable it permanently. To re-activate a de-activated driver open the "win.ini" file with the corresponding editor. In the [Logic] section you will find a list of all MIDI drivers recognized by Logic Audio. Following the driver name you will find a number. Set this number to "1" (activated) or "0" (deactived) according to your needs.
  • The default MIDI input buffer size for non-Emagic drivers changed from 32 KB to 60 KB to allow correct handling of large sysex dumps.
  • The switch "Monitoring" in "Audio > Audio Hardware & Drivers > DRIVER" (DRIVER stands for the audio hardware/driver you use) has been renamed to "Software Monitoring" for its increased functionality. With "Software Monitoring" engaged, monitoring is done by Logic. With "Software Monitoring" disengaged the audio card and its driver is responsible for monitoring. E.g., if your audio hardware supports ASIO2.0 zero latency monitoring and you want to use this feature, disable "Software Monitoring". Please note, that Logic's Audio Input Objects are fully functional (e.g. use their inserts and bus sends for live effects) only with "Software Monitoring" enabled. With "Software Monitoring" disabled they will only deliver the monitor signal coming from the audio hardware/driver.
  • The EASI MME Extension 1.0.0.3 now supports two further formats:
    • A sample rate of 96kHz (provided the driver and the hardware offer this feature)
    • Support of WDM drivers when using Windows Millenium.
  • ES1 - Further increases in ES1 performance. The beat sync parameter now works correctly with the "smooth" random LFO waveform.
  • Fat EQ - The shelving filter's slope characteristics for bands 2 & 4 are now adjustable via the Q parameter.
  • Improved the copy protection handling for your convenience. Now a small window appears while checking CD copy protection. Warning messages will warn you on time that your CD authorization expires. You can reauthorize immediately or continue.
  • Further refinements to the implementation of Rocket Network technology in Logic Audio Platinum.
  • Post selected track - The new menu entry "File > Rocket Network > Post selected track " will ONLY post the currently selected track, thus cutting down on data transfer time. The regular "post" command (Rocket button) will transmit ALL changes made since the last "post" procedure.
  • Revert to last posted - The new menu entry "File > Rocket Network > Revert to last posted" will revert the song to the version currently stored on the Rocket server, thereby discarding all changes you have made since your last "post". This is similar to the "revert to last saved" option found in Logic Audio.

Version 4.6 - 11/9/00

  • The first version to contain RocketPower. (Platinum only)

Version 4.5.1

  • In the Matrix window the head of a note (start-point) can be changed while keeping the original end-point. This is done by grabbing and dragging a note at the bottom left corner. This function is similar to adjusting the startpoint of a sequence in the arrange window.
  • "Video to Audio adjustment" renamed to "Video to Song adjustment"
  • Audio files can now be dragged directly into the arrange window (just like MIDI files). You do not need to drag them in the audio window first.
  • The "MMC Locate" command is now also sent in internal sync mode (if MMC is enabled).
  • Fast Forward and Fast Rewind (Transport): A short mouse click will jump to the next or previous marker. If no markers exist, a short click will jump 1 bar forward or backward. Long clicks will rewind or fast forward as in earlier versions. Moving the mouse left or right will increase or decrease the rewind/forward speed.
  • EXS 24: Improved AKAI S3000 conversion
  • Further minor improvements

The demo version is an older less capable version than the current Logic line. This makes it hard to thuroughly evaluate before buying a full version, but on the other hand, it is a non-crippled version in the sense that it has no disabled save or print features, etc.
