iMedia MPEG Pro is an MPEG-1/MPEG-2 (MP2) stereo compression software package for real-time, studio quality encoding without the need for expensive compression hardware. It is based on an advanced implementation of the MPEG standard for audio bit-rate reduction.
Features
- Record - Records audio directly to hard-disk or memory.
- Play - Sources audio from a file on hard disk or from memory and plays the audio through an MPC-compliant sound card.
- Encode - Encodes audio in real-time direct from a live audio source or from an existing linear (.wav) audio file.
- Decode - Decodes an MPEG file to a RIFF-format suitable for playback on any MPC-compliant sound card.
- File Formats - Binary Raw Sample (user enters sample rate and word length), Broadcast Wave File (BWF), MPEG Wave
- Standards - Full compliance with ISO/IEC 11172-3 ("MPEG-1") Layers 1 and 2 and Low Sampling Frequency Extensions in ISO/IEC 13818-3 ("MPEG-2")
- Modes - Single Channel, Dual Channel, Stereo, Joint Stereo
- Sample Rates - 48, 44.1, 32, 24, 22.05, 16 kHz
- Bitrates - MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 standard bitrates: 8 to 448 kbps. 'Free Format' encoding and decoding for any other bit-rate.
- Channel Map - Maps left and right audio inputs/outputs to channels in the encoded bitstream
- CRC Error Detection - Compliant with ISO/IEC 11172-3
- Ancillary Data - 0 to 40 kbits/s user selectable depending on bitrate and sample rate. (Available with i-Media Audio software development kits.)
