Version 1.24

  • 3-D spectral analysis (Spectral view) available from the Toolbox menu (or via a SPECTRAL VIEW button which was added to the toolbar) - allows one to see how the signal spectrum evolves in time.
  • The pattern recognition utility (Find pattern) available from the Toolbox menu - can be used to localize indicated noise patterns such as large thumps or scratches.
  • Resampling utilities (Adjust speed, Resample, Trim length, CD format) available from the Toolbox menu - allow one to modify the playback speed, sampling rate and length of a soundfile.
  • Stereo to mono (Mono) and mono to stereo (Stereo) conversion.
  • Tools that allow one to define, test and perform complex restoration tasks such as combined declicking and dehissing/denoising, multi-stage declicking, comb filtering etc. (Filter builder, MyFilter).
  • Guided tour on DART (Guided tour) - a comprehensive presentation of main tools and features of the system.
  • The CD writing utility (available from the Wave Manager) - if your computer is equipped with CD-R (recordable CD) the system will let you to record your own CD.
  • Centering around cursor - pressing TAB centers contents of an active window around the current cursor position (unless at the very beginning or very end of the soundfile).
  • Time synchronization (available after checking the Time sync box in the Setup dialog) - allows one to time-align cursors in audio files recorded with different sampling rates; time synchronization is very useful when comparing the original soundfile with its resampled versions.
  • Play & show - when the Play and show box in the Setup dialog is checked the plot of an audio signal shown in an active soundfile window is swept during playback (only when the Play all or Play from the cursor commands are used). To avoid skipping during playback the time resolution factors equal to at least 100 are recommended when the Play and Show option is switched on.
  • Screen color settings (available after choosing the Colors command from the Options menu) - to change color of a selected DART Pro screen element highlight the corresponding item on the list and press an appropriate color button (the results of all changes are immediately shown on the screen). Remember that the colors of some of the screen elements (title bars, scroll bars etc.) are governed by the Windows 95 color settings and therefore should be changed outside DART Pro.
  • Drop markers - can be deployed in a soundfile during playback, e.g. to distinguish fragments that require further processing. All you have to do is initialize playback and press the ENTER key each time you wish to mark the currently played fragment.
  • A new tuning knob was added to the DeClick dialog (the maximum length of detection alarms).
