CuteBreaks allows you to make new drum patterns from samples of old
ones. You can cut up an existing sample "on the beat" into small
"fragments" of sound - normally one beat or half a beat long. This
done, the program lets you set these fragments to play in any order
(including loops) so that you can produce a complete drum track.
You can even play several fragments at once, mixing two or more
parts of the rhythm together. Or you can use several different source
samples.
All of this happens in CD-quality 44 kHz 16-bit stereo.
