BJ Overdrive is a plug-in that simulates an overdriven amplifier for the PC. Instead of just clipping the input signal, it shapes the signal in a logarithmic manner. The result is a very warm distortion, a bit like an overdriven valve. The author notes that the plug-in is especially useful on guitar samples, but also on breakbeats.
