AudioVeda allows you to play, encode, retrieve, store and catalog music in the ePAC file format. It also plays and catalogs MP3 files.
ePAC files use compression technology pioneered and developed by Bell Labs. This compression technology is capable of storing large audio files in a fraction of the space (11:1) with no loss of audio quality. VedaLabs claims that ePAC is more powerful than the current MPEG layer-3 (MP3) and AAC standard. It outperforms in both quality of sound and speed at which it compresses. ePAC uses a variable bit rate compression scheme which can adjust to the complexity of the music. AudioVeda provides better audio quality at 80 kBits/s than MP3 at 128 kBits/s or layer-2 at 192 kBits/s.
