  • CDDB batch query.
  • Much better MP3 settings and internal support for ogg Vorbis.
  • Many new smaller improvements.

Version 1.62 build 2 - 3/19/00

  • Fixes a problem on Win NT/2000 when there is a not working ASPI manager installed.
  • Corrects problem with slight click generated after 3 seconds if fade in and partial ripping was used.
  • Added unrestricted 160 Kbit/s WMA encoding (Microsoft now permits it).

Version 1.62 - 2/24/00

  • No longer needs an ASPI manager to rip under Windows NT and Windows 2000.

Version 1.61 build 3 - 1/14/00

  • Fixed some Windows 2000 related bugs.
  • Corrected a problem with "invalid floating point instruction" in LAME and or Fraunhofers MP3 codec.
  • Floating point errors are now history in Audiograbber.
  • Can record wav files larger than 2 GB in length in sampling mode.

Version 1.61 build 2 - 1/6/00

  • Better handling of Japanese characters.

Version 1.61 - 1/16/00

  • New in this version is localization, the program can now optionally be used in languages other than English. German, French, Spanish and Italian are already included in the setup program. Additional language files can also be found at the download page.
  • Track numbers are now shown in the track list.

Version 1.60 build 5 - 12/12/99

  • Corrects a problem that causes an "unknown codec" error after the first encoded file when using the Fraunhofers codec (only occured on about 5% of all PCs).

Version 1.60 build 4 - 11/23/99

  • Added support for Microsoft PCM Converter under internal codecs (on MP3 Settings). This means that you can now use that codec to get your files saved as mono wav files or 22050 hz wav files, for example.
  • Corrects some problems when launching external encoders.
  • Corrects some other minor bugs found in previous builds.

Version 1.60 build 3 - 11/6/99

  • Added LAME MP3 encoder support

Version 1.60 - 10/13/99

  • Added Line-in Sampling for recording from an external source connected to your sound card.
  • Added Auto Split - attempts to locate the beginning and end of selections based on detected periods of silence, such as the pause separating songs on vinyl records.
  • Added the time scheduled tab - useful for recording from radio when you are absent from your PC. Works like a VCR timer, but for radio (or whatever sound source is connected to your soundcard).
  • Now possible to rip all tracks first and encode them afterwards. Useful if you have only temporary access to the disc.
  • Can now append all ID3 info, final track name and destination, to the wav files. If they later are dropped on Audiograbber and encoded they will end up in the correct directory with correct names and ID3 tags. Useful for people with large hard disks that rip many discs and encode them in mass overnight.
  • Now easier to rip parts of tracks. Audiograbber can, for example, rip 30 seconds from every track starting one minute into the songs with a fade in/out, -these values are adjustable. This feature would be useful in producing sample audio clips from discs.

Version 1.50 - 5/29/99

  • CDDB Submit function so you can now upload your discs to Escient's database.
  • Added support for Microsoft's new Windows Media Audio format (ASF).
  • Can sample analog from your CD-ROM drive (good for scratched/problematic discs or if your drive simply can't rip)

Version 1.41 - 5/17/99

  • Direct rip and encode options which means that it is now possible to rip directly to mp3 without first creating a wav file.
  • Integration with MP3 players, Audiograbber can now launch your favorite MP3 Player when the tracks have been ripped.
  • Added the option to auto-query CDDB if a disc is not recognized.
  • Added speed selection for Plextor drives.

The free/shareware version has been limited to only handle half of the tracks and those tracks are selected randomly at program startup (with a slight advantage for odd tracks). The full version can of course handle them all.
